Quartzite

Quartzite has a marble-like appearance and is extremely durable making it a popular countertop selection.

Extremely hard, this natural stone stands up well to the heavy use of a busy kitchen. Commonly referred to as a marble lookalike, it does not etch or stain and performs more like Granite. It comes in many colors, and frequently has a white or gray background with marble-like veining. Not to be confused with Quartz, or Engineered stone, Quartzite is a natural stone and is becoming the designer's go to choice in homes that want a light grey and white stone look, The same impregnating sealer is used for Quartzite as is used for Granite. Care must be taken to ensure that you are getting a true Quartzite as many stones are being labeled "Quartzite" but are truly a hard Marble. Johnson Granite can help determine this.
