Choose the right surface material for your project

Johnson Granite combines the use of modern technology and experienced craftsmanship to provide the highest quality surfaces for any project. Our state-of-the-art fabrication facility is continually upgraded to keep up with the latest tooling and industry techniques to provide you with the results you envision. Choosing the best surface for the look you want and the performance you need is where our staff excels. We will help educate you about which products will work best and look great in most any application... all custom designed for you.

We keep a broad assortment of Natural Stone Inventory at our fabrication facility in Mt. Airy, NC. We are available to meet with you to view and select your countertop material Monday - Friday from 9:00am - 4:00pm and on Saturday (By Appointment) from 9:00am-1:00pm.

We also have another location in Winston-Salem, NC (formerly Bloomday Granite and Marble) as well as a location in Roanoke, VA. These locations are fully staffed with professionals who can help you make in-person selections without requiring a visit to our main facility in NC.

Additionally, you can view our current inventory on the individual product pages on this site. For a complete list of our products, view our Natural Stone Collection  and our Quartz Collection.

Most of our kitchen & bath dealers have a Johnson Granite Sample Box in their showroom that contains a wide variety of material selections. Each of these samples will have a Control Number on the back that corresponds to the Control Samples at our main facility.

Great care has been taken to ensure these samples give a very good representation of the color tones and patterns that appear in the full slabs of the selected stone. That said, we must advise that Natural Stone and Quartz materials will vary slightly from slab to slab. Not to worry, our Sales Associates can assist by shopping our on-hand inventory and ultimately sharing picture(s) of the actual slabs we hold in our warehouse.

We have plenty of clients who make material selections without ever stepping foot inside of a slab warehouse.  For this reason we have worked hard to take a lot of the guesswork out of the stone selection process.  This way you can confidently make your selections knowing the stone you pick in the showroom is going to be what you see on install day.

Please Note: For some customers, no amount of effort on our part can replace seeing the actual slabs in person, and that’s perfectly ok!  We let your individual comfort level be our guide when deciding if in-person material selection is the best choice for your project.

Get An Estimate

After deciding on the surface material type as well as your desired edge profiles, you are ready to get an estimate. The best way to get an estimate is to provide a simple drawing with measurements and list any cut outs (sink, stove, slide in range, or cooktop) that will be needed for the job. Don't forget to send any information you may have on material selections you like. You can send this info to us via email, fax, mail, or through an on-line design appointment. We will confirm the order with you and quickly get you an estimate based on the materials you choose and the measurements we are given.

Templating

Once the estimate has been approved based on your materials and other selections, it is time to schedule a template date with us. On the specified date, we will come to your home or office and template the area for final quote and ordering. In order to avoid costly errors, please make sure all undermount sinks, faucets, and slide in range specs or cooktop specs are available to us. We prefer that these items are on the job site the day of the template. If they are not available on that date, arrangements need to be made to get these items in our possession. If they are to be shipped, we need to know what to be on the lookout for. Delays in getting all fixtures needed, will hold up the completion of fabricating the tops and can lead to delays in installing the job.

Installation

After template, we will set a time for installation of the countertops. In most cases, as long as we have all the information we need (signed Order Acknowledgement, deposit on material (if necessary), specs on faucets and sinks, confirmed (color choice, etc.) installation can be a soon as 7 to 10 days after template.  Like most home improvement experts our turnaround time is being affected by the pandemic, so it's best to talk with a Sales Associate for up to the moment information.  We do our best to fulfill our client's schedule needs, so let us know upfront your preferences for installation times and we will work toward accommodating your requests.
